Notary Appointment for Property Sales
In Germany, every property purchase is notarially certified. The appointment is the formal highlight of the sale – well-prepared, it rarely takes more than an hour.
Before the Appointment
The notary prepares the draft purchase agreement, which must be submitted to the buyer at least 14 days before notarisation. We review the draft with you and clarify open points such as the handover date, inventory, or tenancy agreements.
The Notarisation
The notary reads the contract in full, explains the regulations, and answers questions. Subsequently, both parties sign. Only then is the sale legally binding.
After the Appointment
The notary arranges for the priority notice of conveyance, the deletion of old land charges, and the payment due notice. After receipt of payment, the flat is handed over, and later the transfer of ownership is registered.
